Thai Massage Therapy

Thai massage works in tandem with other Eastern healing methodologies, including acupuncture. It entails passive stretching and compressing. The process takes place on a mat rather than a massage table. I offer Thai massage in Townsville to help alleviate back pain and headaches, as well as promote relaxation.

***Please note that Thai Massage therapies must be confirmed before you can book, as it requires another therapist that specialises in that therapy.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Do you accept health funds?

Yes, I accept Hicaps/Health funds. Contact me today to book your massage appointment.

  • What if I left my health fund card at home?

In the case that you cannot scan a card, you can pay and we will print you an invoice. You can then use your invoice to claim from your fund and receive your refund.

  • Can I claim through my health fund for a mobile massage service?

Unfortunately, no—mobile massage services are not claimable.

  • What is pregnancy massage?

Pregnancy massage can help you cope with the changes to your body that occur while you are pregnant. It can be especially useful to ease discomfort at a time when you cannot use some medicines or other medical options. Pregnancy or prenatal massage is used to lower stress, reduce swelling in the arms and legs and relieve muscle and joint pain in pregnant women.

  • Is there anything I should consider before booking a pregnancy massage?

Pregnancy massage is generally not recommended if:

    • You are in the first trimester
    • You have nausea, vomiting or morning sickness
    • You are at high risk of miscarriage
    • You have a high-risk pregnancy (such as due to preeclampsia or high blood pressure)
    • You have a blood clot (for example deep vein thrombosis)
    • You have abdominal pain or bleeding
    • You have swelling of one or both legs
  • How far into my pregnancy can I get massaged?

It depends on your personal situation; generally speaking, clients who are pregnant can receive pregnancy massages from the second trimester for the duration of their pregnancy, provided there are no complications. Please note that this can be at the massage therapist’s discretion.

  • What is remedial massage?

Remedial massage is a complementary therapy that aims to treat muscles that are damaged, knotted, tense or immobile. It can be useful for several problems that affect the muscles, tendons and bones and can address several other health problems. Remedial massage is used to locate and repair damaged areas of the body and can speed up the body’s own healing processes.

  • Are all sports massage treatments the same?

No, sports massage is specifically tailored to different sports and sporting injuries. It is not a relaxing form of massage and can often be quite strenuous. It works by stretching tight muscles, stimulating inactive muscles and improving the condition of the soft tissue.

  • What are benefits of a Swedish Massage?

Swedish massage may help reduce symptoms of depression, stress and anxiety. Some of the symptoms that could be managed by massage therapy include back pains, headaches, muscle issues and other chronic pains. Massages are also associated with boosting immunity.

  • Do you offer Thai Massage?

Yes. We have trained Thai massage professionals available for appointments upon request.

  • Is this service walk in?

No. Our services are strictly pre-paid appointments only, with all bookings to be made in advance.

  • What strength of pressure do you use?

This is personal preference and will depend on the client’s wishes and their condition at the time of treatment.
